Camera and Internal Storage

The Blu Life Pure XL comes shod with 16 MP rear camera with 1.34μ pixels and has a 1/2.3-inch sensor alongside Largan M8 lens. Its tag team partner is an 8MP autofocus front snapper with 1.4 μ pixels. Yes it won’t be as good as the S5 but then it costs less than half and performs well enough to put some of 8MP and 13MP units from the leading manufacturers behind it. And the front camera unit outperforms the others by a wide margin. The Blu Life Pure XL comes in two variants: one gets 16GB of internal storage and the other one gets 32GB of internal storage. There is no memory card slot for expansion of memory.

Processor and Battery

Doing duty at its heart is a 2.2GHz  Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor which can be found in the leading flagships coupled with an Adreno 330 GPU and the pair has already proven its performance. It is joined by 2GB and 3GB of RAM (16GB storage gets 2GB and 32GB gets 3GB) to ensure that the multitasking experience is as fluidic as things get A 2500 mAh Non-removable battery takes charge of keeping the device up and running and we feel that is a bit small considering the specs it has to deal with. It would barely last a day in real world and you’ll surely end up charging your device twice a day if you are a heavy user.

Display and Features

A 5.5 inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top of it adorns the front of the smartphone. The smartphone gets a pixel density of 401ppi and is a pretty bright unit to look at. So we have just nothing to complain about in the visual arena. It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean but Blu has stated it will be upgraded to Android 4.4 KitKat. The Blu Life Pure XL gets all the connectivity options you can think of barring LTE. It gets 3G, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP, Wi-Fi Hotspot, micro-USB and NFC for connectivity and that is a pretty comprehensive package to say the least.

Comparison

The smartphone goes pretty close to the Gionee Elife E7 and gets almost identical features. Note 3 Neo comes within its striking range as well alongside Lenovo Vibe Z. Blu Pure Life XL plays the value for money card pretty well and this is what takes it slightly ahead of its competitors.
