We already tested the performance of the smartphone which comes out to be amazing but what about the camera performance? Here is our in-depth camera review of the Asus Zenfone 5Z, check it out.

The Specifications

Asus Zenfone 5Z comes with a dual camera setup at the back which includes a 12MP sensor and an 8MP sensor with flash. The main camera has an aperture size of f/1.8 and it features 4-axis Optical Image Stabilization. The front-facing camera is an 8MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture size and beauty mode.

The smartphone also comes with some software-based features which enhance the pictures one or another. The smartphone also sports some AI feature related to the camera which detects the scene and use the specific preset to make the pictures better.

Daylight photography

The smartphone can capture some great pictures in the daylight, the focus is super fast and there is no problem focusing even on a smaller subject. The smartphone performs really well in the daylight conditions, there is a lot of light in the pictures and the colors look real too, no artificial lighting. Check the pictures taken from the Asus Zenfone 5Z camera. Everything has its low, and so do the Zenfone 5Z’s rear camera. The camera is a low-resolution sensor and the pictures do not pack a lot of pixels making the pictures blurry when you zoom into it. But to take some high-resolution pictures, there is a SuperPixel Mode which captures the pictures with high resolution.

Artificial and Low light Performance

The Asus Zenfone 5Z’s camera performs amazingly well in low light conditions, the pictures come out bright and sharp in every shot. Zenfone 5Z takes full advantage of the low aperture on the main sensor to take some amazing pictures. The camera also focuses quickly in low light conditions and captures every detail of it like in a daylight shot.

Selfie and Video quality

The smartphone comes with an 8MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture size and gyro EIS. The front-facing camera is also good but as we said before, it is not the best we have seen in this price range. Overall the smartphone captures some good pictures with no blur effect in the front-facing camera at all. Coming to the video quality, the camera is capable of shooting 4K videos at 60 frames per second. The camera comes with optical image stabilization but the stabilization in the videos is not that good which we expected from an OIS supported smartphone. Overall the video quality is somehow great, no grains or artifacts seen at all.

Conclusion

The Ass Zenfone 5Z is a great phone but as you know not every smartphone is perfect (believe me!). So, with Zenfone 5Z, you have to settle for a mediocre camera when you are getting the best performance at much less price. The Asus Zenfone 5Z is overall an amazing deal which you should never miss but if you are buying a smartphone only for the camera then you should try other options as well.
