Design & Build
The Asus Zenfone 3s Max sports a metallic unibody design with a 5.2 inch display. It has Asus branding on the back with a 13MP camera on the top left. On the front it has a fingerprint sensor inbuilt in the home button and three on-screen navigation keys. The Honor 6X features a slim 8.2mm body with metal frosted material, smooth curves and 2.5D curved glass on the top. It sports a 5.5 inch display with 71.8% screen-to-body ratio. The overall dimensions are 150.9 x 76.2 x 8.2 mm and it weighs around 162 grams. On the back it has a dual camera design with a fingerprint sensor below that. Both the phones have a good design and build but if you prefer fingerprint sensor at the back then Honor 6x is better.
Display
The Zenfone 3s Max features a 5.2 inch IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD). Overall, the display is decent with good colour reproduction and sunlight visibility.
On the other hand, the Honor 6X sports a 5.5 inch LTPS IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels (FHD), pixel density of 403 ppi and up to 450 nit brightness. It also comes with inbuilt eye comfort mode that filters out blue light and relieves from visual fatigue. Honor 6X definitely wins this bout, with a better screen size and resolution.

The Zenfone 3s Max is equipped with a 13 MP primary camera with phase detection autofocus and dual LED flash. It supports video recording [email protected] On the front it comes with a 8 MP camera with f/2.0 aperture. The Honor 6X has a dual camera setup on the back. It comprises of a 12 MP and 2 MP camera with phase detection autofocus, LED flash, 1/2.9″ sensor size and 1.25 µm pixel size. On the front, it has a 8 MP shooter. Both the cameras support FHD video recording. The dual cameras on Honor 6X gives it a edge in this competition. But in daylight, both the phones perform equally well.

On the other hand, Honor 6X comes with an octa-core processor with 4 x 2.1 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4 x 1.7 GHz Cortex-A53 cores. It is powered by a Kirin 655 chipset and Mali-T830MP2. It is bundled with 3 GB / 4 GB RAM and 32 GB / 64 GB internal storage that is expandable up to 256 GB through hybrid slot. It runs on Android OS, v6.0 (Marshmallow) with Emotion UI 4.1 on the top. Honor 6X has a slightly better hardware than Zenfone 3s.
Battery
Asus Zenfone 3s Max is backed by a big 5000 mAh battery that is non-removable. It does not have fast charging support. We played Asphalt 8 for about 15 minutes, battery dropped by 4 %. The Honor 6X is backed by a 3340 mAh battery with support for fast charging.

The Honor 6X is a better device purely on a specs basis. The dual camera setup on the back features better sensors, while the display and processor are also better compared the ones in the Zenfone 3s Max. The one area where the Zenfone 3s Max wins is in the battery department. You can choose the phone depending on what is more important to you – display, processor and cameras, or the big 5000 mAh battery.
