Salora Arya Z2 Hands on Review, Unboxing, Camera, Features, Price, Battery and Overview

Design, Build and Display

Arya Z2 sports a very simple design with beefed up front bezels and capacitive navigation keys lining the 5 inch IPS LCD Display panel. The matte finish back is again simple, flat and neat with the calligraphic insignia, speaker grill and camera module – all placed in conventional layout. With sharp corners, the Arya 2 looks like a simplistic slab- neither glamorous nor shabby.

The 5 Inch IPS LCD Display features HD resolution which is admirable at this price range. The colors, viewing angles and brightness add up to a good display, especially at this price. Both the display size and resolution will help Arya to garner some attention in Indian budget Android market.

Processor and RAM

Arya Z2 employs the familiar MT6582 chipset with Mali 400 GPU and 1 GB RAM. The chipset is fairly common in this price segment and is also a decent performer. We didn’t observe any UI lag in our initial time with the device and this isn’t much likely to change for basic users in the long run. We will test the gaming performance later in our full review.

Camera and Internal Storage

The rear camera has an 8 MP rear shooter and you can capture 13 MP images using software interpolation. The camera quality didn’t seem as fine as of Redmi 1S, but can’t be criticized at this price point. The 13 MP shots weren’t as good, but we will save our verdict till we get to test it in different lighting conditions.

Internal storage is 4 GB which can be further extended to 32 GB using microSD card. You will get 8 GB MicroSD card bundled with the device as well. The internal storage might seem scanty in modern times, but coupled with MicroSD and USB OTG support, this shouldn’t be a deal breaker in this price range.

User Interface and Battery

The user interface is almost stock Android 4.4.2 kitkat. Android Kitkat will ensure good Android experience and smooth performance. The Battery capacity is 1800 mAh and this isn’t very dazzling considering the display and the chipset being used. The good thing is that the battery is removable.
