Airtel and Idea have made changes in their plans to compete with Reliance Jio directly. Until now, Airtel and Idea offered voice calls just to home circle and charged outgoing roaming calls as per normal circle rates. Reliance Jio, however, also offers unlimited incoming and outgoing roaming calls without any daily limit.
Airtel’s Rs. 349 Plan
Talking about Airtel’s Rs. 349 plan, the company earlier only offered unlimited local and STD voice calls and 1GB data per day with this plan for 28 days. Now, the Airtel users with the plan can also make free outgoing roaming calls and send 100 SMS during the 28 days period.
Along with the Rs. 349 plan, Airtel has also modified all of its unlimited plans such as Rs. 549, and Rs. 799 as well. The Rs. 549 and Rs. 799 plans from Airtel also gives unlimited voice calls (both local and national calls), 100 SMS per day for 28 days. The Rs. 549 plan gives 2GB data per day, while the Rs. 799 plan gives 3GB data per day for 28 days. The company had earlier announced a cashback offer for its Rs. 349 plan for some select users. The company is also offering 100% cashback when users pay for the recharge using Airtel Payments Bank on MyAirtel app. They will get Rs. 50 cashback on the first recharge and Rs. 50 each on next 6 recharges.
Idea’s Rs. 357 Plan
Idea Cellular is also offering unlimited voice calls that include both incoming and outgoing calls in home circle and roaming as well with its Rs. 357 plan. It also includes 1GB 2G/3G/4G data per day and 100 SMS per day. This plan is valid for 28 days, same as the previous validity, but it now offers better benefits. The Rs. 357 tariff plan from Idea Cellular is valid for both existing and new subscribers and also applicable on all the handsets. Both Airtel and Idea Cellular seem to be taking advantage of the recent price hikes by Reliance Jio in its plans. However, still, the Reliance Jio has one of the best and cheapest plans available. Jio’s Rs. 309 plan gives 1GB data per day, unlimited voice calls, and unlimited SMS for 49 days.
