The latest Chromebook from Acer will be the first in its segment with a 15.6-inch full HD display. Also, the Chromebook 15 will support more than two million Android apps downloaded via the Google Play Store.

Acer Chromebook 15 Specifications

The new Acer Chromebook 15 features the new design with an aluminium top cover and palm rest which gives it a stylish and premium feel. It is also thinner and lighter than previous generations. It features a back-lit keyboard allowing greater usability.

Coming to the specifications, this laptop comes in two different models. One of them will be powered by the latest dual-core Intel Celeron and the other one by a quad-core Intel Pentium processor. Further, the laptops will be available with 32GBs or 64GBs of eMMC storage as well as 4GB or 8GB RAM configurations. One of the highlights of the new Acer Chromebook 15 is its 15.6-inch display. The 1920×1080 screen resolution of the display is one of its biggest selling points. The Acer Chromebook 15 will be available with either a touch screen or non-touch display. The Chromebook 15 measures 378 x 256 x 18.9 mm and weighs 1.72 kg. The laptop has two upward-facing speakers for delivering media, an HD webcam with 88-degree field of view. On the software front, it includes Chrome OS with Google Play Store support, giving you have access to up to 2 million Android apps. The laptop offers fast internet connectivity with Intel Wireless-AC (802.11ac). For other connectivity, it includes two USB Type-C ports, which can also charge it. Moreover, it also has two USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI port, a headphone jack, a speaker jack, Bluetooth 4.2 support and an SD card slot with support for up to 128GB.

Pricing and Availability

The new Chromebook 15 will be first available in EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) countries in October. The pricing of the laptop starts at €499 (Rs. 38,000 approx.). Additionally, it will also be available in North America in October starting at $399.  The laptop will be offered at Best Buy and the Acer Store. There is no information about its release in India.
